Melting Around the World
Welcome to Wednesday! Today we are hitting Epcot. Two park closures in a row meant I slept in. So we just had time to hoof it to the boat and ride over to the other side of the lake for our lunch ADR. The beautiful blue skies leaving the Village. Here is the full day’s video – but keep reading for the pictures and comments. Walking into Epcot. The Food and Wine Festival was going on. It wasn’t exceptionally crowded as far as we could tell though, while we were here. A quick shot of us. Unintentionally coordinated in blues – right down to the lanyard and magic bands. I…

Disney World 2014: A Halloween Road Trip
It seems like we’re creating a habit of last minute trip plans to Disney World. While 2011 was booked about 6 months in advance this time it was just three. This year marked our 5th wedding anniversary, and 15 years being together. Such a milestone deserved an awesome celebration and so after some budget wrangling, deliberation, discussion, and angsty hand-wringing we got a hold of a TA and put down the deposit. Our first option had been for Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to get it booked in time and the last room sold. Mind you – we were trying for a popular time (Halloween, October), and…

WDW 2011 Day 13 – Epcot and Magic Kingdom (last day)
1/21/2011 Our last day in the parks. Today was the least structured. By now coordinating 4 adults with different thoughts on how to tackle / see each park and rides was getting to everyone just a tad. We were all still on speaking terms however – so it wasn’t a complete meltdown. We headed to the Magic Kingdom parking lot and took the tram to Epcot first. I love these billboards around Disney. Our last time passing this sign.

WDW 2011 Day 11
Thursday 1/20/2011 Since we were exhausted Chris and I had the parents go on ahead while we snoozed a bit. Mom and Dad stopped and got a few photos:

WDW 2011 Day 5 – Part Six
With full tummies we headed out into the night and charged through the showcase. I would have liked to linger more but we didn’t know how strict the CM’s would be (they’re not terribly) and I had forgotten my Joby Gorillapod back at the hotel (a flexible tripod like item for clamping your camera for long night shots). So with that in mind – all of the photos are handheld! America from across the lake: UK: Busy street at night:

WDW 2011 Day 5 – Part Three
Lunch today was in … Germany! Biergarten to be exact. We checked in, and the server turned to a family of four who were waiting and said “Ok, these are the people you will be dining with….” and explained briefly the theme of the place etc. Meanwhile – said family are rather worriedly looking at each other. I’m pretty sure they didn’t realize this was shared seating. Indeed – we didn’t acknowledge each other the entire meal (with them even staring pointedly at their plates and ignoring the “Ziggy Zaggy, Ziggy Zaggy, Oi, Oi, Oi” chants). The little bit of conversing they did with each other was in (I believe)…

WDW 2011 – Food Review Summary
So you might be wondering – even with extensive photos – just how I remembered all my thoughts on every meal with such clarity. Well, I went prepared, that’s how! Before leaving – I typed up an extensive restaurant review booklet. The front cover of course had the best gastronomic expert Disney has – Anton Ego. Each inside page had the name of the eatery (if it was scheduled) or an open title line if it was going to be decided while there. Then there were lines for writing down what we had, and our thoughts on it (one book per couple) and little mickey heads to color in for…

WDW 2011 Day 2 – Part Four
After leaving the fish we wandered into Germany. The miniature village and railway is great for closeup pictures – and sometimes you get photographed back! I’ve been spotted:
