Toy Wars Stunt Spectacular of Terror
Thursday! We managed to get up a bit earlier than the day before, but still didn’t actually get to the park until noon. Grabbed “breakfast” at the little shop in the lobby. First we finally got down to check out the pool. No pictures of the pool area as I don’t have a waterproof case. These guys crack me up. Hidden Mickey! Love the other details – like the well-worn English to Spanish dictionary. The hat is no more here – glad for the shots I got of it. Off to the Pixar area… To use a FP for Toy Story Mania! Scores Look! Castles under the Castle sign. As…

Disney World 2014: A Halloween Road Trip
It seems like we’re creating a habit of last minute trip plans to Disney World. While 2011 was booked about 6 months in advance this time it was just three. This year marked our 5th wedding anniversary, and 15 years being together. Such a milestone deserved an awesome celebration and so after some budget wrangling, deliberation, discussion, and angsty hand-wringing we got a hold of a TA and put down the deposit. Our first option had been for Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to get it booked in time and the last room sold. Mind you – we were trying for a popular time (Halloween, October), and…

WDW 2011 Day 4 – Part One
Thursday 1/13/11 We got up nice and early and headed out to the Magic Kingdom! Made it there by 8 am, got out and FROZE again. I sat sniffling in the parking lot (seriously…) while Chris and Dad assembled Mom’s scooter. After sitting in a wheelchair (trying to huddle for warmth) I finally decided it was taking them WAY too long, and I was getting bitchy as it got colder (what the HELL Florida? 30 degrees again? and super windy too!?). I head back to the car, hop in, only to find that the batteries on Mom’s scooter had drained overnight. They were packing it BACK into the trunk, and…

WDW 2011 – Food Review Summary
So you might be wondering – even with extensive photos – just how I remembered all my thoughts on every meal with such clarity. Well, I went prepared, that’s how! Before leaving – I typed up an extensive restaurant review booklet. The front cover of course had the best gastronomic expert Disney has – Anton Ego. Each inside page had the name of the eatery (if it was scheduled) or an open title line if it was going to be decided while there. Then there were lines for writing down what we had, and our thoughts on it (one book per couple) and little mickey heads to color in for…
