    Tutorial: Photoshop – Non destructive lens flare

    As a photographer, I spend a good deal of time in various editing programs manipulating images to suit my needs or creative plan. Some photos need nothing more than a quick touch up, and some I want to do artistic/dramatic changes with.     Detroit FanFare

    Detroit FanFare was a really fun show. It was located at the Hyatt Dearborn (which has since changed ownership) and ran 3 days. They had a slew of comic people and artists, and some very special guests. My husband commented that when he first saw Star Wars: A New Hope as a kid, he never imagined that he’d be meeting Darth Vader someday. While still a small event, only in its third year, it definitely had a lot to see and do. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, even if there was some confusion the first day with badge pickup.     I recently purchased a year membership to Kelbytraining.com – an online video based training site started by Scott Kelby. The site covers photography techniques, as well as the full range of Adobe Creative Suite products. Scott Kelby is a well known photographer, who is also President of the NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals), as well as editor of Photoshop User magazine. He’s written a slew of best selling technical books on a variety of photography techniques and photo editing software tutorials (several of which I own).
